EMBASSIES
THE CANADIAN EMBASSY IN CAIRO
The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade commissioned WASSEF to be the host country consultant for the construction of the new chancery. WASSEF has participated in the design and review of the Architectural and Engineering Design and Construction Document, and assisted DFAIT in the evaluation process for the selection of contractors. WASSEF took contractual project management responsibility for the new embassy to ensure that the project meets the most stringent of the Canadian building code and local Egyptian standards, with a priority to health, safety and security, and the use of local materials in addition to Canadian products.
