EDUCATIONAL
RIGHT TO LIVE REHABILITATION CENTER
WASSEF was selected by the Right to Live Association as their design consultant for space planning, architectural, engineering design & supervision of construction for their first rehabilitation center for the intellectually disabled in Cairo, Egypt. The parents' design suggestions were carefully taken into consideration. Particular attention to the architectural design was given to classroom space for the students with special needs, such as the layout and proportion of the classrooms, the finishing of the material of the furniture, lighting and ventilation. The main purpose was to encourage the students to integrate into the community. The rehabilitation center facilities also includes sheltered production workshops, a large gymnasium, a swimming pool, a garden, an auditorium, as well as a computer lab and a residential care facility.
